SMART Recovery Program
SMART Recovery (Self Management And Recovery Training) welcomes people to address challenges with any addiction, including addiction to alcohol, tobacco, opioids and gambling. The program has four parts: developing and maintaining motivation for change, dealing with urges and cravings; working through thoughts, feelings and behaviors; and living a balanced life.
The program is going to expand to train up to 40 people to deliver SMART Recovery programs throughout the community. It is led by Bruce Liese, clinical director at the Cofrin Logan Center. It meets Wednesdays from 5-6:30 pm in meeting room B of the Lawrence Public Library.
An information session for people interested in becoming SMART Recovery facilitators will be held 9 a.m. Saturday, July 13 and 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 24, both at at the Lawrence Public Library in meeting room B. For more information about the weekly meetings or training, please contact Bruce Liese.
